I guess that I missed that comment by Bush.. Care to provide a link to document that accusation?Humans are just renting the planet, from the planet, and no one has a right to anything. It's a matter of negotiating the current rent from others who wish to rent it for themselves. So you mean our mortage/rent payments have been getting thrown to Madame Pele', our planetary landlord?? Funny... That wasn't on the syllabus in my economics class in college.. ;0)I prefer the payoff and bribing side and third party idea as a combination because I don't believe that killing a small portion of the population works very well. It just leads the rest of the population to wreck havoc after it has regrouped. I guess you don't understand how "protection rackets" work. If you pay them off, they think they can squeeze you for even more money later on. It's an endless cycle of extortion and bribery that inevitably winds up costing more down the road. But when you fight back against the bullies (smaller though they may be) and exact a price for their extorsion, they'll think twice and consider whether maybe, just maybe, they went too far last time. THAT'S HUMAN NATURE!!What is the US doing in Iraq at this point in time? What is the end game? They've said they were going to train some 200,000 Iraqis and they've apparently done (maybe?) more than half of that. So get half the Americans out. You say there aren't enough American troops on one hand, but then on the other you want to halve their presence. Make up your mind.. The end game, IMO, is to create a sovereign Iraqi government that can protect its own territorial integrity, and is fair enough to protect the rights of the minorities, as well as the majority. My proposal to divvy up a substantial portion of the oil revenues to BE DIRECTLY DISTRIBUTED TO THE PEOPLE should be something you applaud. But I'm recommending it because the current government can not be trusted to spend it fairly. Thus, it's better to give it directly to the people as an entitlement and hold the government accountable to everyone for delivering those checks each year. Hawk
