Once that goes away all else is possible. If that doesnt go away, Israel will always be heavy handed in its own defense and the world will be forever criticising them for overreacting.

What methods will cause change is the question. I agree that change is needed. But heavy handed defense will not produce it. That is where I part company with the vast majority of pundits looking at the current situation. I don't see any positive outcome from trying to bust Hezbullah's chops, because they will just be back with more grievances.

If we can't control Iraq, and Israel can't control Gaza, after all these years, why to people talk about solving the Hezbullah equation with short term force? I don't see it.

Problem is as much with euros who have coddled arab rejectionsists, as with bush.

Speaking of Euro weenies, I didn't realise how cool much of Europe is normally. The English were bitching about high 90's the last few days and it set all time highs. I'm scheduled for 108 on Sunday, which might well set the high for that particular day of the year, but...
