Proper time and proper place is the biggest thing. You want to work Kerry's campaign on the side, have at it. When I'm paying to listen to you sing I don't want to hear that crap even if I agree with it.

She was the worst though. Speaking against a war time president during war while over seas. If I never see her fat face or hear her voice again that will be fine with me.

I actually had 3 of their CD's and really enjoyed their music before this. They went to them in pieces along with many others from around the country and I vowed to not listen to them again.

You are right on the money about being supportive vs adversarial. I doubt anyone would care (or maybe even notice) if the Dixie Chicks had played at benefits for Kerry or whatever candidate they supported.
