On windmills, Kerry supports wind farms all across the country, and solar farms too, with two exceptions, not in places they will kill migrating birds. and not where they are eyesores which negatively impact pictoresque tourist sites. I think we can all agree on those two exceptions.

Nantucket is a huge center for sailors and yachtsmen. Boats make up a big part of the local economy. As a result, a huge floating windfarm in the middle of where sailors like to sail may have a negative impact on the local economy. Nantucket also has a lot of migrating birds as the wetlands and moors there have been fairly well preserved. Ditto Martha's Vineyard.

The best place for windfarms is in remote desert or wasteland type areas where there is a strong steady wind. The great American Desert could be turned into a huge money-maker by putting thousands of wind and solar farms there. They could eventually replace the noxious heavy-polluting coal and oil burning power plants which Cheney loves so much.
