Merriman downgrades LTX Corp (LTXX 5.37) to Neutral from Buy due to the current capacity digestion phase the back-end equipment companies are experiencing. The firm believes some of LTX's subcontractor customers have instituted spending freezes due to cautiousness in several end-markets, including PCs and handsets... Merriman downgrades KLA_Tencor (KLAC 39.93) to Neutral from Buy as the sentiment around the equipment group continues to plummet. The firm notes Lam Research (LRCX), one of the better performing stocks in the group in 2005 and 2006, announced that orders would most likely decline in the December quarter.

>>The desire to be first to the door to get out when "peak" is yelled in a crowed room is overwhelming. The length of time from first out the door to the actual "peak" is ever lengthening.<<

And is the opposite true? That everyone wants to be the first in, once the trough is in sight? Doesn't seem so.

The desire to be first to the door to get out when "peak" is yelled in a crowed room is overwhelming. The length of time from first out the door to the actual "peak" is ever lengthening.

During CC LRCX announced they will discontinue giving booking guidance - investors and shareholders want to focus on shipments and operational execution. I sense other are equally getting tired playing musical chair while the "financial community" plays the music.
