That type of simplistic reasoning has been tried in courts around the planet lately -- a lot -- when it comes to iTunes.

Thus far iTunes: 1; Everyone Else: 0

You can expect microsoft to get some DRM going with new machines to make it impossible to run windows on mac hardware

I don't see why. People have to purchase a retail copy of Windows in order to run it on a Mac. I should think this is to MSFT's benefit.

I believe Macs running Windows is more of an issue for PC manufacturers like Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc. The only time MSFT would move to prevent Macs from running Windows is if it perceives OS X to be a real threat. Even then, I doubt if MSFT can block AAPL without running into antitrust issues.

you can expect apple to get sued to make it so people can run OS X on non-apple hardware

I can't imagine why anyone would want to do this. Even if they did, they wouldn't succeed as OS X is nowhere near monopoly status as far as the computing world is concerned.
