Apple sold more laptops in June than HP. Thats the reality. Over 10% share in one month. You can think what you want, the facts speak for themselves.

I responded because you tossed out that Bush allegory.

I think the consensus among bulls is that Apple is going to gradually gain market share. I think it already has in developed countries. It may accelerate its gaining at some point.

My own view is Microsoft will continue to dominate, but I think Linux and OSX will take between 10 and 40% of the computer market within 10 years. Probably more like 20% in 5 years.

Linux will take more of the low end of the market in under developed countries. Apple will take the upper part of the market. Windows will be left to the middle.

Attitudes are changing, Macs are becoming prestige items, instead of "toys." Note: this is different from "acceptance."

Sure you can get by with a Wintel book...
