yes I certainly can comment! hahah. The entire industry already has commented, with a big YAWN.

The main purpose for vista, the really groundbreaking stuff, was supposed to be a new file system, somehow based on SQL which would allow for a context search of file contents. That was the vision and it was publicized, this was the heart and soul of Vista.

Here it is on wikipedia.
en.wikipedia.org

This was AXED.

Now, vista is nothing more than a windows service pack. Those in the know are already aware of this. Vistas inability to excite buyers is one of the reasons apple is a shoo-in. Techdata and the entire industry are behind apple now. We can't have the premier technology company of the industry basically stand still for 8 years which is what has happened with msft.

>>Then you really can't comment. I have used it. I was wowed. Not enough to cause me to switch. But enough to convince me that there is no longer an OS X advantage. So I don't expect a significant number of Windows users to switch to OS X.<<

Dave -

You're comparing the next version of Windows to the current version of OS X. By the time Vista is out, Leopard will be, too.

BTW, does Vista have anything like Spotlight? How about Expose, which was new in Panther? Dashboard?
