I dunno, as with the US in Iraq, the pipsqueak side of the assymetric warfare seems to be more capable than the other side thinks it is.

The killing and kidnapping of Israeli ground troops DOES say something about their military. These Hezbollah guys aren't that sophisticated and their successes make you wonder if the Israelis are as sharp as they used to be.

The Hizbullah guys are plenty sophisticated and well dug in. They've had 6 years of training and supply from Iran, and Iranian Revolutionary Guards are fighting with them.

The IDF is taking casualties, and I don't think it's because they sloppy. But the IDF does have one big handicap, its desire not to cause civilian casualties. The terrorists exploit it by sending women and children out as human shields.
