Using a one-size-fits-all generality seems naive to me. I replied to the question in kind. I'm certain there are differing aims So you're suggesting that we negotiate with each terrorist separately? And what of bin Laden's goals? He seems only to want all Westerners out of Saudi Arabia. Then his problem is with Saudi Arabia, not us. As I mentioned earlier, no one goes there unless invited. They control egress. There'd be no point in his attacking us if that were his only objective.
