Rare, of the 2 nsclc CRs did you ever look into whether they were in the second- or third-line failure group(s), or what the odds are of a CR in third line? I only went to the 10-k and it isn't made clear. Has it been published?

BTW the latest gent PR looked fantastic for VOD treatement, but made me worry about the prevention market.

I've followed POTP since they were controlled by SEPR and have owned POTP intermittently during this period (currently have a few shares) and posted about them a couple of times on the valuation thread.

I reduced my position sharply a while back when the early Rituxan combo trial results came out and the side effect profile looked much more severe than I was anticipating. If nothing else, the SE profile seemed to kill any prospects in Type II diabetes.

I haven't really been following them much since, and so I'm pleased to see this thread. Clearly still a very high risk, high reward play - be an easy 10-bagger if things work out well.

Welcome to SI - hope to see you on the Biotech Valuation thread sometime.

Peter

POTP> glad to stumble across this board.

Occasionally posted POTP info on momo/TFIF thread.

I bought some POTP in March at higher levels, after reading an article regarding some great success Talabostat had in clinic for Melanoma in a young boy stage IV. <I'm working from memory> I will try to dig up the article. The result was back in school, playing tennis etc...

Thanks for all the good discussion.

New cancer drug helping Daniel Myslivecek regain weight, energy

(March 27, 2006) — CHILI — Daniel Myslivecek was feeling sick Friday, so he missed tennis practice at Churchville Chili High School. That has been a rarity as things have slowly turned upward for the teen battling cancer.

Daniel is on a new treatment after several trips to the University of Colorado Medical Center last year failed to decrease his cancer cells.

Daniel, 15, was diagnosed last year with stage IV metastatic melanoma, a skin cancer rare among teenagers. Melanoma usually occurs in older adults and is often associated with exposure to the sun. He was given until the end of January to live; however, he is beating those odds and starting to feel better.

Daniel leaves today for the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Md., his third trip in two months. He began treatment in February, taking Talabostat, an experimental drug developed to stimulate the recovery of normal blood cells. It was found to enhance the anti-cancer effects of chemotherapy in animals and has been used on adults. Daniel, who had no significant side effects from the drug, takes the 250 mg pill once a day for 14 days, stops for testing, then goes back to the pill.

"We're really happy about the way treatment has gone," said Tammie Myslivecek, Daniel's mother. The family also has turned to homeopathic options, such as vitamins and herbal teas, in addition to Talabostat.

"I really think that we stumbled onto something, because the cancer cells started going down," said Dean Myslivecek, Daniel's father. "Doctors couldn't believe how much better he was doing since we hadn't been back to Colorado."

And after seeing his weight fall to 90 pounds, Daniel is back to 104, his pretreatment weight in October.

Until Friday, Daniel hadn't missed any school this year as a direct result of his cancer. He has even joined the tennis team and is playing singles. He played growing up, taking tips from his father, who used to coach the Gates Chili High School team.

"I wanted something highly active until I start playing soccer," said Daniel. "I'm feeling pretty good now."

"When the doctors call and I tell them what Daniel is doing, they are flabbergasted," added his father. "They say, 'Where does he get that energy from to play tennis?'"
