From the start of the debate, I have said that it is not black or white. If I wanted to demonize anyone, there are massive archives on injustices done by Jews to Arabs. But what would that prove? People would pull out massive archives of injustices by Arabs against Jews. Both would be correct. But the point is that innocent civilians should not be collateral damage. Not by Hezbollah rockets and not by the Israeli army. You do a good job of defending the Israeli side. On any given day, it is almost a guarantee that the National Post will do its utmost to maximize sympathy for Israeli victims of violence and provide excuses for excessive use of force by the Israeli army. Somebody has to say there is more than one side to this. Our government is condoning the actions of the Israeli army when it uses excessive and disproportionate force, which is morally wrong, and this is going to stir up trouble.
