Btw, in case any of you are interested, here is one of the better maps of Lebanon that I've seen available on the internet. It has most of the major road networks and it's topographical (showing hills.. etc)

You can "drill down" by clicking on a particular area that you want to see more closely.

Could just as easily been written:

They simply have so much more to gain, prosperity wise, by swallowing their pride and cutting a deal with the Palestinians.
Cutting a deal means that both sides can walk away from the table with a positive result. A non-viable (balkanized) state is not positive.
