Depends on how one sets up shared folders. It's certainly possible to expose the entire OSX volume to Windows.

Default is the reverse, of course: zero exposure.

One has to go way out of one's way (and be an absolute moron) to expose the entire OS X volume to Windows.

Is that what you did?

The norm is a shared folder created by user, into which said user places what they wish to access with both OS systems: documents, or folders of documents. Certainly not the entire volume.

Like yes, it is possible to load a gun, then take the safety off, and blow one's own head clean off. Not the default, though.
