Prejudice against the military has become systemic in our country. Hostility toward ROTC in universities is the norm, not the exception. It is commonplace for public high schools to resist, or even deny, military recruiters the same access to student records that are made available to colleges and prospective employers (even though such access has been mandated by Congress).

Military recruiters on campuses today might as well get combat pay, as they can fully expect to be harassed and shouted down at every turn by leftist professors and student groups.

It is interesting, even poignant, that many of those Americans in Lebanon who denounced the government for being slow in getting them out greeted the arrival of the Marines with a big cheer.

Where do they expect that the Marines of the future will come from?
