I know from bitter experience that many people cannot discuss ME issues without going ballistic. Hopefully they will know who they are and save the boxing matches for the threads where that is considered great entertainment. The first time I ran into this in any serious way was in the early stages of Ken's (Faultline) work setting up the old FADG thread. He completely forbid discussions of Israeli/Palestinian issues because it had been his experience, living around Berkeley, CA that such discussions were as you describe them. I thought it was a mistake and said so, both publicly and privately. Boy, did I learn I was wrong.
