I am still looking for someone to come up with something else that israel could have done when they were attacked by hizbolla

They should have done a cross border raid, nabbed 20 Hezbullahs and stuck them in Israeli jails. Then dropped the matter. Since more than two additional Israelis have died in the aftermath, one cannot argue that the lives of the two soldiers are the primary concern.

Hi michael97123; Re: "I think iraq is lost and i fear what israel is doing will cause lebanon to me much like iraq going forward."

People in Israel also see that Iraq is lost, and this has direct consequences to Israel. It means that peace is impossible. So they turn to fighting. But the odds are not good. As long as we stay in Iraq the greater the instability in the Middle East in general that raises oil prices and keeps us from using our air force to enforce peace. As soon as we leave Iraq, the greater the instability in Iraq with pretty much the same effect.

We're stuck in the same bind as the Israelis, but with the advantage that the locals seem to be shooting each up more than they're shooting us up right now.
