Buddy...I think it was a, "I'm NOT my dad!" decision. Bush Sr. got killed so bad on the "read my lips" thing and I think Bush Jr. wasn't going to get tagged with the same sort of flip flop. As far as the Mid Terms, I think it's going to be a set up killer for the Repubs. If I were doing spots for the Dems I'd have a woman from the state in question with Parkinsons on the screen saying she was HOPING science could come up with a cure, but saying "some people don't care about the elderly and the chronically ill" ....then cutting away to a guy in a white coat walking to an incinerator lamenting the fact that embryos have to be destroyed rather than used to help the suffering people of our nation. Wouldn't that be a good spot?
