Kerry was right about Iraq and has never changed his stance on Iraq. He was for making sure Saddam was disarmed (a good idea), by force if necessary, but only if necessary, after all the inspections and diplomatic avenues were completed.

So if Bush had left the UN inspectors in and they had found nothing, Kerry would have been satisfied to keep Saddam in his box, finish the war on terror in Afghanistan and leave Iraqi regime change for another day. That would definitely have been the lesser of two evils.

You understand that the GOP congress are specialists in forcing votes on rather dishonest choices. Like voting for either black or white, but no grey. Either you're with them or against them and no middle ground, when the correct stance may be the middle ground. Extremist Bushies define middleground as being a "flipflopper" or trying to have it both ways. On Iraq, the correct stance was the middle ground.
