seti,

"AMD management has gone into hiding."
..as if they are happy to see the stock fall ? It certainly makes me wonder !

Suppose the ATI/AMD merger rumour is true :

Maybe the idea is to get the stock prices to align 1:1,
so that a merger by just adding the shares together rather than using ratios of 2:1, 3:2 etc.
Seems crazy I know, but I've seen crazier things like AMD dropping 60% for having 50% YoY growth !

What credibility issue?

Revshare is up by over 1 point in Q2 despite INTC's all-out attack and AMD management has told us that Q3 revenues will exceed any seasonal strength.

Any bombing by INTC looks to have blown up its own financials more than AMD's. WS actions, as typified by yesterday's action, are the result of WS's own agenda.)

Even with a perfect CMW ramp (i.e. no production glitches), INTC is likely to continue to lose Revshare as AMD slams through 20% CPU Revshare in Q3 or Q4, and 25% in Q4/07 and 30% in Q4/08...especially if those ATI rumours bear fruit.

Yes INTC has CMW, which may or may not stem INTC's slide to some degree depending on ease of production (a significant risk, imo) but AMD looks to have Dell and now IBM.

I don't like INTC's chances even with a perfect (highly unlikely) CMW ramp of preventing AMD from approaching 30% Revshare in Q4/08, perhaps sooner.
