The rightwing's Whitewater Bimbo Charade against Clinton, which was a well-orchestrated and heavily funded smear campaign in disguise (none of those chicks suing CLinton were telling the truth) suckered complacent democrats into siding against themost successful president since JFK. Lieberman was the #1 critic of Clinton's fiidelity on the Dem side. Gore was suckered into distancing himself from Clinton so much that it cost him the election (along with Nader and Bush's cheating in Florida). Picking Lieberman was a huge mistake. Lieberman seems to be working for the Republicans sometimes, though he mostly seems to be working for Israel. Lieberman has some admirable qualities but it's time for him to go.
