But, mind you, there are always folks (not necessarily Liberals and Democrats) who believe "'tis better to nurse the flame of a candle than to curse the darkness." It is very easy for many Americans to believe that Muslims are naturally vile and evil with a compulsion to destroy western civilizations and therefore the logical course of action is to annihilate them out of existence. Many Americans (particularly Bush supporters, white supremacists, skin heads and First Aryan groups & etc) erroneously jump to this conclusion simply because they are the products of a very inadequate education system which ignores the importance of history and critical thinking and analyses. (These subjects are ignored mainly because the educators want to treat the students with kid gloves and to virtually give them a free pass and ever maintain their self-esteem and feelings of success. Ah, but that is a subject for another day.) Don't ever forget that Islamic antagonism against the West harkens back to the Crusades in the 12th/13th centuries, and I believe it was immensely exacerbated by colonial and unfair exploitation of their lands and oil wealth in recent times (20th century) and, of course, the creation of Is'ra'el right I am inclined to believe that not until the grievances (real and imagined) of the Islamics are "delegitimized" will there be meaningful dialogue between the warring parties. Of course, those like you will want to adopt the one and final solution a la Hitler and the Nazis. To be sure, the Midwest has lots of room for the internment of Muslims, gassing them and cremation of their corpses. . .
