They were. I never said they were good under Saddam, but fewer people died per year, there was more electricity, the economy was better, and the violence was much less random.

On the contrary, if the US stepped away from Israel, Israel would be forced to stand on its own two feet. I suspect it would lead to their disbandment. Their country was an unnatural creation that probably would not survive if it weren't for the US.
