You can't figure out that posting the death totals is a way to express horror at a disgusting loss of life many people perceive was unnecessary? Our brave men and women of the military, lives squandered in a foreign fiasco. Too bad your imagination can't stretch to that, since it is what motivates most of the people I know, and even if you disagree with it, it's a perfectly honorable way to think. If you believe this war was a mistake you would see the lives of America's military as sadly wasted in this war.

Sad. Very sad you can only think the worst of the loyal opposition.

re:"When it comes to soldiers dying in Iraq, what I think is more common on SI, and on the liberal side generally, is "satisfaction". "

In case you haven't heard it before, and I doubt it, you are a certified idiot! The soldiers did not declare war.....Bush did! Disagreement with the war is no reflection on the soldiers whose lives ARE being wasted. It's disgusting that wingnuts try to use the lives of our soldiers to try and embarrass those in political disagreement with them.
