When Hezbollah fires a missile, Israeli Radar picks the missile up, a siren blows and everyone heads to their bunkers. Sometimes 9 or 10 times a day. The reason the death count which you are so concerned about isn't high enough, is that every israeli building is now built with a bomb shelter or safe room. It is expensive, but Israelis care about people so they build bomb shelters in every building. Think about how many bombs it would take to make the Canadian government make every building have a bomb shelter. That is the effect on Israel of Hezbollah. How much raw fear is that. The other question is, where are the lebanese bomb shelters, much of what has been destroyed is only 5 or 6 years old. Where are the bomb shelters for the lebanese people?

By the way in one of those articles It quotes the head of Hezbollah as saying there are 11 or 12 thousand Missiles. Enough to keep this battle going until October I think they said....... Now that will be hard on Lebanon......

Nearly a quarter-century after Israeli forces pummeled Beirut to the hellish crescendo of an explosion every three seconds, a rebuilt capital crumbles one artillery strike at a time as Israel seeks to wipe out the enemy it spawned.

You have accused me of not caring about the Lebanese. They don't figure in this war. Lebanon is simply a bystander, rather like a body with a disease, the disease fights the medication, and the person whose body it is, really has little control. Lebanon knew for 6 years this was coming. They knew that Israel was preparing a plan for war, and they knew that Hezbollah had to be stopped. Rather like the government knew that they had to settle the Land claims in Caledon. Lebanon did nothing, and eventually Israel has reacted. I keep talking about donations to help the Lebanese. I don't see any other way to help, and if you think the Prime Minister of a 4th rate military power saying Israel is wrong will make a difference it won't. What would Harper do ask the navy to row one of our unsubmersible subs over and give them a talking to? Right now our very best navy ship is the Haida and it's a museum. Thank the Liberals for keeping up our military. We could threaten to drop a broken Helicopter on them. But we have no teeth. We have no more soldiers, and we have no way to get them to Lebanon anyway. Paul martin didn't even offer us a couple of boats to help out.

So since the Lebanese Government didn't build a lot of bomb shelters, or dismantle Hezbollah, I don't see another option. I have asked you day after weary day if you saw one. What you want is for me to be sorry for the Lebanese. I am. But that is of absolutely no help to Lebanon. Now if Hezbollah had build a few bomb shelters an only bought 9000 missiles things might have been different.
