Kerry never changes directions. That's a rightwing smear.
They base that on the fact Kerry wanted the 87 billion war spending bill to have accountability attached, and be paid for. Bushies refused. That was a hugely corrupt and reckless move on the part of Bushies just to put the war on the national credit card with no oversight over where and how the money is being spent.

Kerry's stance on the war was in the middle. Bushies dishonestly call the middle (where most Americans are) "flipflopping" or "having it both ways". It is Bushie rightwing radical extremism which is the big problem, not those who took moderate stands. A moderate stand against Saddam turned out to be the right way. Disarm, but don't invade and occupy without 100% necessity and then only with a very clear plan and lots and lots of allies.

Wes Clark is the finest military leader we have. If he were in charge of Iraq we'd be much-much better off.
