There's a certain amount of brand snobbery among gunwriters. I've read a lot of articles that Taurus quality is great. My Taurus 9 mm Beretta clone is very well made and has never malfunctioned. By and large, I think quality on most firearms is pretty good, owing to the inherent liability of the product.

Taurus just came out with a .45 ACP 1911 model that has all the bells and whistles normally found on custom guns, and outstanding accuracy.

One of my favorite pistols is an AMT .22 magnum Automag II. It's the only gun I've ever had quality problems with, but it's so cleverly built that I overlook them.
