My lack of understanding comes from one fact alone. Jesus Christ was Jewish.

You obviously haven't been looking at the Pictures of Jesus the churches have on the walls. :>)

"The Jews killed Jesus," started over a thousand years ago. It was the official dogma of the Catholic Church for centuries. Martin Luther was a raving anti-Semite.

Ditto. I can remember in my youth wondering how any Christian could be anti-Jewish. As you said, Jesus and all his disciples, and pretty much everybody else in the Bible was Jewish.

I rarely have ever heard a Christian speak badly of Jews except in the media (where the MSM likes to blow these things our of proportion). Maybe we have Hitler to thank for that. Anti-semitism is not displayed in polite company in the USA starting in 1945.

That was my experience growing up in a southern Baptist church and town in the Bible belt.
