Everyone has been killing Chistians for about 1970 years. Everyone has been killing Jews for much longer. The only rule is men kill men and sometimes may use a label of religion as an excuse or rational. In America some Protestants did not like Catholics or Jews or any other group that disturbed their self proclaimed moral superiority. Today in America I see endless issues where clearly many if not the majority of others are ignorant and out to lunch in understanding. Some blame can be layed at the feet of the MSM as the are collectively quite dumb or intentionally dishonest. As I read your occasional, hmmm 'looking for a fuzzy description' I will call it anti Catholic bias, I think you are a victim of the historical MSM or the world of historians presenting the protestant American interpretations of past events. Very little different in accuracy than the NY times today with current events. I have no doubt there were bad men in the past and they were Catholics and they made out like they were perfect Catholics. And I also have no doubt there were many who for many reasons needed to discredit the Catholic Church and were as honest as the NY times in recording and reporting what happened. In the past with communication basically non existant, I see a Catholic Church that had a common doctrine, but functioning accross months of separation as if they were very very different churches. Local church officials, some weak functioned as independent as entirely outside or morality. Look at how the evil entire US military is will that toturing of all those terrorist. Can you apply the analogy. Listen to John Kerry, a Catholic, it really is just more Vietnam systematic day in and day out operational policy. Christ conveyed clearly that all men, even good men can and do betray. Judas and St Peter both betrayed. That men betray does not change the morality or what is right and wrong.
