Yes, I know the general ethnic and religious terrain across the region, but making sense of it is another matter. I can see how a Shiite axis of interest runs from Tehran to Hezbollah to Basra. What that means for Sunni-dominated regimes in Lebanon, Egypt, Saudi, Jordan, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Syria is beyond my level of knowledge or expertise. Those regimes all face radical non-Shiite threats at home.

Mix in all the possible regional axes and you get a total muddle.
