I've posted most of my thoughts on I-Hub already, but in a nutshell I'm holding for better prices as the buyout is cheap based on current drill results, but NG was probably set to increase resources quite a bit more during the next year. It's also cheap relative to where other exploration plays have been taken out and considering where NG's mines are located (private land in Alaska). The PSM issue was obviously more significant than most expected. The fact that ABX outbid NG so signficantly ($1 vs .57) is interesting to say the least. The fact that NG even made the offer for PSM may have hastened this deal on the part of ABX. ABX may now feel like they have some leverage if the NG board decides not to accept the offer (110% sure of this). I still think NG will likely go for anywhere in the 18-22 range in the next few weeks/months. Not sure if a bidding war will emerge w/other co's as there few that can afford NG's price. At a min I'm waiting to see how NG responds to ABX's bid. It's very usual to have a stock trade at a 8% premium to a buyout price, usually the other way around. The market would bid it even higher, but of course nothing is certain. The way the market opened gives me a reasonable amount of confidence we'll at least see 18+. Surprised to see how many have sold already or those who were completely out since they got too cute trading or didn't really understand what they owned (not pointing any fingers at the NRS board moderator of course.) Let's see hype job CWPC is down over 50% off it's highs and NG is near it's all time highs w/most of the gold sector well off theirs. Research pays, follow the 'guru' does not. Guess he was too busy reporting fictitious real time trades to do any DD.
