You talk about Beirut 1983. Why should I ask a US Marine who went into Hezbollah territory? If you transgress into someone's else's territory, they will destroy you. That is to be expected.

Perhaps Hizbullah should have thought of that before they raided Israel. However, the US & France were invited in in 1983 as peacekeepers. Hizbullah killed them as part of the civil war.

But Hezbollah has not attacked US targets overseas or within the shores of the US.

Hizbullah blew up the Jewish community center in Argentina a few years ago. They are active in South America, esp. in the Three Borders area.

Lastly, why does Israel think they need to solve US' problem with Iran

They don't. They are solving their OWN problem with Hizbullah. Proxy wars are always fought for local as well as strategic reasons.
