More this one than the others:

"realize that all human life should be valued, not just some?"

Though mostly I am indifferent to the suffering that goes on in the world. On any given day a travesty goes on somewhere or other but I drive to work and listen to the radio and think about my own minor problems just the same. I think that is human nature, we tune out anything that doesn't effect ourselves, our family, our friends, and in some cases our nation. It takes a real media spectacle to get us to focus on others. Unless there are really good visuals forgetaboudit, we're not interested.

It seems strange to me that a conflict costing a few hundred lives should occupy our attention so much when thousands of children are starving to death in a different part of the world.
