isn't the blindfold a symbol of her skill and strength to always be objective?

I don't know about "skill and strength" but I thought it was meant to be the ideal, hopefully achieved most of the time. I never understood it the way CB presented it.

She's actually Themis, a Greek goddess, and the Greek gods and goddesses were far from perfect. [Edited, I put Roman but the Roman goddess was Justitia.]

The blindfold is to keep her impartial, because she cannot see the persons she is judging, only hear their evidence. She can't tell if they're rich or poor, male or female, black or white, good Amurricans or pesky furriners.
