You are right, and I am pretty depressed. The world has:

1) Those who think that might makes right
2) Those who are radicalized by those who are intransigent and arrogant because they have all the might
3) Those whose religious beliefs make them think they are right and other people are satan and deserve anything that can be dished out to them
4) Those who benefit financially from militarism and pay for media propaganda in the form of "think tanks" with unbiased sounding names to make the populace paranoid and in support of military expenditures and campaigns
5) Those who benefit politically from jingoism and cowboy, tough-guy, bonehead approaches to the world's problems
6) Those who buy media "analysis" and sound-bites, repeating a mantra of little morsels of half-truth that provide a simplistic and misleading world view to the masses
7) Politicians who are the servants of lobbyists rather than the public
8) A whole lot of people who really have no concept of the world outside of the borders of their own country, and could not care what happens to those in far-off countries, let alone their own neighbours.

As a result, prospects of world peace are going nowhere. The few with morals are without power and the few with power are without morals.
