Sure, there fight seems to stem from both sides think they are entitled to Kajmir. As I understand it Kajmir is primarily a Muslim area that had a Hindu Maharajah who voted to go with India, India said sure, Pakistan said no, and there you have it. It's not really a very close analogy to the ME situation at all, but nowhere in the world that I can think of is.

Best analogy to Israel's creation that I've been able to come up with is communist Red Jersey seceding from the USA in 1948 and forming the North American Communist Homeland, and the Soviets giving them enough support and weaponry to resist the USA's efforts to prevent the secession. That's not perfect, but its about as close to an analogy that I can think of.
