I skimmed a number of political threads on SI today; . . . Too frequently, I forget to thank you for the thread. I appreciate the balance you are trying to achieve, the grace you bring to doing it, and your obvious success doing so. As you know, my own policy preferences could hardly be classified as "centrist". A few might with a bit of a stretch but most would not. But I love to discuss politics, foreign policy, the foibles of politicians, et al with folks who have a broad array of political places in the world. The problem, as you know, is the culture of bashing makes that somewhere between difficult and impossible. For me, your centrist thread is a place to have such conversations. Thanks. If you wish to recreate it as a place for only posters with centrist convictions to hang out, then I'll disappear.
