The Codelco slide appears a big problem to me. Read this:
Copper mining giant Corporacion Nacional del Cobre de Chile is still evaluating the damage a rock slide caused Sunday at its Chuquicamata mine, a company spokesman said Tuesday.

While the company initially estimated it would lose 1,000 metric tons of copper in concentrate a day, it still hasn't quantified how much refined copper output will be affected, the spokesman said.

The rock slide damaged conveyor belts and interrupted the flow of mined material to the concentrator plant.

While a local newspaper reported the repairs to the conveyor belt could take up to a month, Codelco won't confirm or deny that report until it completes its investigation and informs the SVS securities overseer of its findings.

The on-site investigation likely will be completed Wednesday, the spokesman said.

The copper miner will use security stockpiles at Chuquicamata to feed the concentrator plant and to meet its sales commitments, the company said Monday.
