You're drinking the anti-Arab Koolaid if you think the main reason Arabs oppose Israel is because it is a democracy (as is Lebanon).

Wake up Elroy!! Lebanon is only a democracy because of international pressure to evict the Syrians.

Hizbullah is ANYTHING BUT DEMOCRATIC. They, like Hamas, SEEK TO USE the democratic process to utterly destroy it, and obtain complete power over Lebanon for themselves.

IOW, Hizbullah seeks to destroy Lebanon's Democracy, just as completely as Hamas seeks to destroy Palestine's democracy.

I have a feeling the Arabs view of Israel would be the same - they wouldn't like a Jewish homeland located where there has forever been me a multi-ethnic group of people.

And I have a feeling that Palestinian Christians would disagree with you. I worked with a Palestinian Christian who's family originated in Bethlehem. Bethlehem USED TO BE 80% Palestinian Christian. But now, due to discrimination/intimidation by Palestinian muslims, it is now 80% Muslim.

Explain that!!

Do you think the fact that Israel's population is ~20% Arab makes the country more or less acceptable to its neighbors than if it were 0% Arab? I say more. That's what I'm talking about.

I never hear Arab governments discuss this "inconvenient truth". They constantly speak, and act, as if Israel is 100% Jew.

Perfect. The next step is start granting citizenship to Palestinian refugees that can improve Israel and voila, you are heading down the path I proposed to reunite the "partitioned" multi-ethnic land as a place where all its citizens can live as equals.

The Palestinians DON'T WANT TO BE PART OF A COUNTRY WHERE JEWS LIVE. You're living in a fantasy world more fantastic than that of the movie you're going to see.

In fact, as I've already stated, after 1948, most of the Arab countries took steps to evict their Jewish populations, relegating them to refugee status, and ushering in a migration to Israel. Where is THEIR RIGHT OF RETURN??

That would be interesting to see if however the French forgave the Germans could be applied to the ME situation. I guess its easier to forgive atrocities if you are the winner in the endgame.

I think you will still find a tremendous degree of "jingoism" evident in the French/German relationship. Both peoples consider themselves culturally superior to the other.
