The Gore movie had an animation of a polar bear trying to find ice; it was so sad that all the audience went "ohhhhhhhhh" when the ice he was trying to climb on broke apart and he had to start swimming again. I was grateful it was an animation and not the real thing. The racehorse never particularly interested me. While it's very sad, he also has had a very privileged life as horsie lives go, and he was getting better medical care than most of the world gets, not to mention a promise of euthanasia if he were in bad pain. We should all get such consideration.
