I haven't seen it. Thanks for the recommendation. I tend to avoid her stuff because I don't have the patience. Maybe a movie would be more accessible.

Similar plot twist in Serenity, a cult classic which I highly recommend. The Alliance (read Empire) experimented with a drug which suppressed aggression, only to discover that most of the people who took it quit feeding themselves or performing basic human functions and died.
