I am simply saying that you can't assume any issue will be a non-wedge issue due to its own virtue and importance to the general good. The political hotshots know how to spin any issue that comes along.

The key is turning popular opinion against that whole crowd, that whole approach, and exposing it for the bankrupt BS it is.

But most activist types on both sides would rather just bash and polarize and look for 51-49 "solutions" that never address the whole problem or offer a whole solution. And their audience is very susceptible to the emotional appeal of the wedge arguments, enough to back the useless 51% solutions instead of something lasting.

If a candidate could capture the frustration with things simply not getting done because of all this wedge 51% crap, I think they could go far.

But we haven't seen a pol like that in a very long time.
