The talk of Turkish participation may be designed to scare the syrians further. They have their own border crisis with the Turks going back for quite some time. Mentioning Turks might be more to pressure syria in stopping the underground arms railway from tehran to hizbollah.

I think it would very interesting to see Turkish soldiers on the Israeli border. They've had fairly good relations in past years and I can almost guarantee that Hizbullah would not want to screw with them

Sounds like a good idea. The Turks certainly hate both Syria and Iran. Offer the Turks US support for EU entry in exchange for their manning part of the NATO peacekeeping force?
