The turks gave us moderate islam--even their islamic party is moderate. Whether its al quaeda or hizbolla the turks would be losers if either succeeded. In country groups like hizbolla and hamas need to come to their senses. If there is to be real peace those two will ultimately need to sign on if not make it themselves. If all power line up for peace, perhaps they can be convinced to reject rejectionism. I have read a bunch of articles this week that say that iranian people say let the arabs, not the persians, fix arab problems and that no money should be spent on hizbolla when the little guy in iran is in such bad shape. If we at some point are will to forgive, maybe iran will be willing to grow up and deal. I loved the sun-hawk debates on us/iran of earlier this year and i always thought you both right in identifying the misconceptions and paranoia on both sides. It would be nice if us and iran could strike a bargain.
