correction: Let say the distance between A and B is 10 miles and the distance between B and C is also 10 miles. The road between A & B is flat and the road between B & C goes over small hills. Now the car spent X gallons of gas while traveling from A to B and Y gallons while traveling from B to C. The car was traveling at the same speed.
