Iran is a threat because it can control us and we can't control them. There are plenty of Iranians who want a more open society, but we fail to provide the basis for the integration of Iran into the global economy. Provide student visas and $10 billion in grant money for Iranians to study in the US. That we do more to solve the problem than bombing them. They will soon have the bomb. The question is whether they will have it in a context where they won't be stupid enough to use it.
