How can they ALWAYS be wrong?? You were right the first time, the statement was self contradictory. It is usually stated to get the author of a generalization to think about whether the proposed rule is really general, or just an easy statement to make. The scientific method works well in the correct context. It doesn't work well at all in some very important domains. Which ones? You imply that these important contexts should be self evident, but I know of no field where the scientific method cannot be used. TP
