That's too narrow. When the short term borrowers can't meet their payments, the US economy as a whole suffers, not simply commodities. Resulting in significantly less tax revenue, weakening the dollar. Only if Washington cut spending, not just cutting the growth rate of their spending, could that be offset. Washington cut spending? LOL...........

Additionally, commodities would not be hit as hard as you think. The greatest growth is outside the US.
