So who is counseling Rice? Undersecretary of State Nicholas Burns. The entire Bush debacle is scary and getting scarier. You can say that twice. I think a lot of people are getting played right now. The neocons are using some legitimate security concerns to promote a war. Just as Iraq was promoted in the U.S. as some outgrowth of the Afganistan battle, so is the destrution of Lebanon being promoted as an outgrowth of the Hezbolla battle. Normally it wouldn't make sense for Israel to create a failed state on their border, unless they expected that they would be fighting Lebanon anyway in the context of a wider war. I'm just afraid that Kerry or Hillary are going to wind up being for the invasion before they were against it. As I said, a lot of people are getting played for fools. TP
