We are all guilty of using terms we shouldn't at times in private, but I don't think we should ever consider them acceptable- in ourselves or others. Still the terms are less important than the opinion that informs the use of the terms. And that is what would worry me-- if I were LnShort-- about my sons. Are they just being cool, macho, fitting "in" (though I would wonder where they want to fit) or do they really believe that gay is disgusting. But maybe for some that is an acceptable opinion. I reserve the right to find it reprehensible, and to believe it isn't as representative as it once was.
